Simple Architecture in Almere – De Eenvoud

The challenge was to design a detached house with ‘simplicity’ as the guiding theme. In the end, the jury chose designs with a lot of humour, relativization and a mild form of absurdism. The concept of ‘Simplicity’ was thus somewhat pushed into the background. This project comes after 2 preview ones: De Fantasie and De Realiteit.

Remark the small house with a garden in the middle of the area. This house has been moved from the ex-DDR and has been rebuilt as it was. It is a real DDR-house in the middle of Almere, Netherlands.
