River Loire in the Month of October

A great trip to the Loire Valley! There are many things to see and do along the Loire River, particularly between Gien and the confluent with the Cher. Here are some suggestions:

Château d’Amboise – This is a must-see castle, located on the banks of the Loire River. It was once a royal residence and is now a museum. It has a rich history and some stunning views of the river.

Île de la Folie – This small island in the middle of the Loire River is a great place for a picnic or a walk. It’s a peaceful spot with great views of the river.

Les Plages de Loire – These are the beaches along the Loire River, where you can relax, swim, and enjoy the sun. They are particularly popular in the summer months.

Old Bridges – There are several old bridges in the Loire Valley, including the Pont Jacques Gabriel in Blois, the Pont Wilson in Tours, and the Pont de l’Europe in Orléans. They are all beautiful and have interesting histories.

Cycling the Loire Valley – The Loire Valley is a great place to cycle, with many cycle paths and quiet roads. You can rent a bike and explore the region at your own pace.

As for the color of the Loire River, it is often described as a beautiful shade of blue. This is due to the reflection of the sky and the surrounding landscape, and the fact that the river is quite clean and clear.
